1Adding a wallet

Open nanotracker.app. You can start without signing up: enter a public Nano address (nano_…) and choose "Analyse". No email needed.

Add more addresses with "+ Add wallet". You can name them and sort them into groups.

According to the site your wallet list is kept only in this browser. So download the backup once ("Download backup"). If you change browser or device, load it there again.

You never need a seed. Whoever asks for it is not NanoTracker.

Check question: What do you enter for an analysis?

2Reading the overview

After the analysis you see every payment of your wallet: incoming and outgoing with date.

For each payment NanoTracker shows the value then (rate on the day of the payment) and the value today. The difference shows whether a payment is now worth more or less.

You set the currency at the top. There are many currencies, including USD, EUR, TZS and KES. According to the site the rates go back to 2018.

Tiny incoming payments can be hidden. "Show tiny payments" reveals them if you want to check them.

Check question: What does "value then" mean?

3Gain and loss

NanoTracker shows plus and minus per payment. It books by FIFO: first in, first out. The oldest receipts count as spent first.

Example with invented numbers: you receive 10 XNO worth 1 EUR each and later 10 XNO at 2 EUR. Then you spend 10 XNO when 1 XNO is worth 3 EUR. By FIFO the first 10 XNO are spent. The gain: 10 times (3 minus 1) = 20 EUR.

This is a calculation aid. It shows you how the numbers arise and is not a substitute for advice.

Check question: In the example: what is the gain by FIFO?

4Holding period and tax file

Depending on the country there are periods after which a gain can be tax-free. NanoTracker shows per item when the chosen period is reached. According to the site the default is "Private, 1 year holding period (DE)".

The tax file is a report and table per year from the data of your wallets, calculated by the chosen rules. You can hand it to a tax adviser.

What it is not: tax advice. Rules differ by country and change. Whether something is tax-free is decided not by NanoTracker but by the law of your country. Ask the competent office or a tax adviser.

Check question: What does the tax file do?

5Private, business, transfers

You can keep private and business separate. Group your wallets accordingly.

If you move Nano from one of your wallets to another of yours, NanoTracker recognises the transfer. It does not count as spending, and the holding period keeps running. Both wallets must be in your list.

For merchants there is a QR payment request, incoming payments with purpose and a daily close (see the course Nano for merchants).

Check question: You move Nano from your wallet A to your wallet B. Both are in the list. How does NanoTracker treat this?

6Pro and prices

Analysing a public address works without signing up. An account and Pro extend the scope. Pro is paid in XNO (nanotracker.app).

Which features belong to Pro and what they cost is shown in the app under "Account and Pro" and "Prices". Prices change. This course gives no figure.

Try the free analysis with one address first. If something is missing, compare the prices and decide for yourself.

Check question: Where do you find the current price of Pro?
